AbstractIt is estimated that the average 80‐year‐old person will live an additional eight years and 40% will have symptomatic cardiovascular disease. Few studies exist in patients 90 years or older. Several years ago, a prominent pathologist made the point that at autopsy, nonagenarians rarely had significant coronary disease. That does not seem to be the case in 2009.
