AbstractPig thyroid Golgi vesicles incubated in a suitable medium were able to concentrate iodide from the medium. This trapping required the integrity of the vesicles, was time‐ and temperature‐dependent, and was inhibited by a competitive inhibitor of iodide active transport (perchlorate), suggesting a facilitated transport mechanism.
