Silanizing Glassware

Brian Seed · Current Protocols in Cell Biology · 2000

AbstractThis unit provides a protocol for silanizing (siliconizing) glassware to prevent adsorption of solute to the glass surface and to increase the hydrophobicity of the surface. This is particularly important when dealing with low concentrations of particularly “sticky” solutes such as single‐stranded nucleic acids or proteins or cells.
