Production of Polyclonal Antisera

Helen M. Cooper, Yvonne Paterson · Current Protocols in Neuroscience · 1997

AbstractAntibodies are serum immunoglobulins with binding specificity for particular antigens, and polyclonal antibodies are particularly valuable for immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting. In this unit, the production of polyclonal antisera specific for protein antigens in rabbits, rats, mice, and hamsters is described. A support protocol is included for preparing serum from blood.
