War and Suicide in the US Military

This Viewpoint argues that, as the US considers military and veteran suicide risk during a new conflict with Iran, policymakers and clinicians should avoid oversimplified assumptions about war, combat exposure, and suicide and instead apply nuanced lessons from prior war eras and new research.
